Hey, I’m Dave, the Product Manager here at Iconic.
It’s time for another plugin update post here at Iconic. June was a busy month for us, and I have a lot of updates to share.
As always, if you’d like to request future plugin updates and/or changes, you can submit a feature request.
Updates to all Iconic plugins
Last month, I mentioned we’re working on making our products compatible with the new WooCommerce product block editor, and this is almost complete! We wrapped up work on Attribute Swatches, and work is currently ongoing for WooThumbs, which will be the final plugin to receive compatibility!
We’re constantly looking for ways to deliver plugin updates that have undergone a robust testing process. So, our development team has just added new automated PHP testing tools to improve our quality assurance processes.
For some exciting news, after a long review, I’m confirming our product roadmap for the next 12 months, which will be shared publicly soon! This has been a lengthy process, and I appreciate your patience, as I know that many of you are keen to see what the future holds for Iconic plugins!
Next, we move on to some plugin-specific updates, starting with Flux Checkout for WooCommerce.
Flux Checkout for WooCommerce updates
We’ve been having internal conversations about the future of Flux Checkout, and we’re excited to announce that later this year, we will be moving forward with a back-end refactor to give you more control over your checkout flows/steps!
We’ve also listened to your feedback, and we’ll be working on a new One Step Checkout layout that will be available for both the Classic and Modern styles! This will be developed alongside the larger refactor of Flux and will be released at the same time.
WooCommerce Custom Fields for Variations updates
We released the long-awaited change mentioned in last month’s post to WooCommerce Custom Fields for Variations. You can now change the order in which fields appear. Huzzah!

WooCommerce Delivery Slots updates
For WooCommerce Delivery Slots, we’ve added a pop-up to the order confirmation page. This will make it clearer to express checkout customers that their date/time still needs to be selected in order for their order to be fulfilled.
This, combined with the recently added order reminders feature, reduces the chance that your customers will encounter issues with having their orders fulfilled after an express checkout.
WooThumbs for WooCommerce updates
Now for an update from WooThumbs – we now support the video type WebM.
WebM videos typically have smaller file sizes and better playback performance while maintaining similar quality to MP4. However, browser/device support is not as broad as MP4.
WebM videos can now be added to your gallery by assigning them to gallery images or adding them as your global product videos. All of the WooThumbs settings that affect MP4 videos also affect WebM videos.

The fullscreen gallery now has basic support for RTL. PhotoSwipe, the popular JavaScript library we use for fullscreen functionality, doesn’t have RTL support built-in. So, we have added some customization to deliver basic RTL functionality that we will hopefully be able to improve in the future.
WooCommerce Product Configurator updates
Time for a much-needed quality update to WooCommerce Product Configurator.
When customers add a configured product to their cart, the image that appears in the mini-cart/cart/checkout is now a scaled-down thumbnail version of the full-sized image.

This will decrease the load on the server as well as the amount of data transfer required to fully load the page on a mobile device.
WooCommerce Quickview and WooCommerce Show Single Variations updates
Customers using WooCommerce Quickview and WooCommerce Show Single Variations have an update too.
You will be pleased to hear that the modal window is now compatible with individual variations in the shop pages after a small but important bug fix!
Let me know what you think of this month’s updates and what you’d like to see in future updates in the comments below.
