Think of it as informational/descriptive variation data that can either be used on the product edit page or also shown on the product page of your WooCommerce store.
This information will only show in these two places. In other words, WooCommerce Custom Fields for Variations doesn’t allow customers to customize products, or replace product add-ons. It’s a plugin to help your store admin save time adding variation product data/information to the product page.

Where do the custom fields for variations appear on the product page?
If filled out on the backend of your ecommerce store, these fields will show right underneath the variation selection dropdowns (or swatches, depending on your theme/plugins). These are right above the ‘Add to cart’ button.

Two Awesome Things!
There are 2 things I would like to mention. THe first one is that I really like the “WooCommerce Custom Fields for Variations by Iconic” plugin. I use this so that when a customer is selecting a suit size from the drop down menus, the measurements are automatically displayed depending on which one they have toggled to. This is so much more effective then just ahving a size chart on the product pages. It helps to prevent someone buying the wrong size and then having to exchange it later.
The second thing is they are pretty dedicated to helping their current and future customers solve any problems or answer their questions.
