Default to First product in Attribute if default is sold out

Hi guys. Currently in the product configurator plugin if the default product is sold out, that attribute defaults to blank. This presents a poor user experience to the user as it may not be clear that there is an option not selected. I’d like to have the ability to set the first product in the attribute (or last, or random, I don’t care) as the default when the Default is out of stock.
