If you’re looking to edit the WooCommerce My Account page but don’t know where to start, this guide is for you.
👋 In this guide, we’ll show you how to edit and customize the WooCommerce My Account page using the plugin WooCommerce Account Pages.
WooCommerce Account Pages
Add and manage pages in your WooCommerce “My Account” area using the native WordPress “Pages” functionality.
Plus, we’ll share some of the ways you can use the My Account page to increase customer satisfaction, and useability and even increase sales in your ecommerce store.
But first, let’s explain what this page is and what’s usually found on it.
What is the My Account page?
The ‘My Account’ page (or My Account dashboard) of any WooCommerce store is vital. It has to be well-designed and cater to your customer’s specific needs. To convert more sales, avoid refunds and returns, and encourage repeat business.
The My Account page in your WooCommerce store is essentially an account dashboard for your customers. It contains a number of menu items/account tabs in a sidebar.
These menu items (otherwise known as WooCommerce endpoints or default endpoints), can include any of the following:
- Orders – This section shows the customer’s order history, including the order number, date, status, total, and more.
- Downloads – This section lets the customer see any downloadable products they’ve purchased.
- Addresses – This menu item contains all the customer’s addresses, including shipping and billing addresses.
- Payment Methods – This menu item or endpoint shows the customer all the payment methods they’ve saved for this store.
- Account Details – This endpoint menu item lets customers update their account information, including their name, email address, and password.
- Logout – Lastly, this endpoint or menu item allows customers to log out of their account.
Beyond these default WooCommerce endpoints, it’s hard to make any changes without a little help. So what if you’re looking to customize My Account?
In a default WooCommerce install, the WooCommerce My Account page is tough to edit. Making changes to this part of your WordPress site is usually limited to developers with knowledge of PHP, Ajax, custom CSS, and extensive coding knowledge.
However, the good news is with the help of the straightforward WooCommerce Account Pages plugin, you can make all sorts of alterations to your account pages without the need for any coding knowledge.

Step 2: Customize your account pages
WooCommerce Account Pages allows you to add a new tab or new page to the My Account area of your WooCommerce store. Doing this couldn’t be easier, especially if you’re already used to adding a WooCommerce product or WooCommerce page.
To add a new tab or custom page to the My Account area, take the following steps:
- From your WordPress dashboard, go to Pages > Add New.
- Enter a title and content for your new account page/new endpoint. This page’s content can include anything you’d add to a regular WordPress page, including links, images, videos, snippets, and more.
- We’ll give you some extra tips for things you can add here later on!
- Next, select your My Account page as the parent page from the right-hand Page Attributes section. This allows your new page or custom endpoint to appear in the My Account area.
- Once done, click Publish, and your new page will be visible in your My Account area on the front end of your site.
How to customize the My Account page
Once you have your new page (new endpoint) set up, you can add many things to it. Below, we’ll outline some of our recommendations.
(Note: we strongly recommend that you implement these changes using a WordPress version later than 5.0 (Gutenberg) so that they display correctly). Learn how to update WooCommerce the right way with our guide.
Downloadable user guides for your products
Many physical products sold online benefit from instruction guides for either assembly or correct use once delivered.
You can dramatically increase customer satisfaction by providing detailed downloadable instructions or user guides to ensure they get the most out of your products.
You’ll also limit the likelihood of returns and refunds. Bonus!
To add these to your My Account page, add the new page (as shown in the tutorial above). Then, upload your user guide links to your media library and insert them in the content pane of your page. You can even add screenshot previews to the page to let customers know what they will download.
Then, as already instructed, select the My Account page as the parent and hit publish.
You may know that retaining an existing customer is five times cheaper than acquiring a new one.
📈 However, did you know that the success rate of selling to a customer you already have is 60-70%, while the success rate of selling to a new customer is just 5-20%?
That’s why you must have customer-only coupons and discounts waiting for your customers when they log into their account.
Not only are you more likely to convert existing customers, but offering them exclusive discounts they can use on the checkout page will likely increase loyalty and lead to further repeat business.
Once again, this functionality is easily added to your My Account page.
By installing this free WooCommerce plugin, you can add coupon shortcodes to the content of a page (don’t forget to update the page attributes to have the My Account page as the parent), and, hey presto, they’ll be there waiting to tempt your best customers into spending even more.
Plus, you can even restrict these coupons by tailoring the content of your My Account page depending on specific user roles. A major bonus!
Add a section for FAQs
Regardless of the type of items you sell, customers will have common questions regarding your products, services, and policies.
Adding a FAQ section to your account menu lets you inform customers of crucial policies such as delivery and returns, how to contact customer support, and generally improve customer experience.
As before, this is simply a case of typing out the questions and answers in the content pane of a new page. If you choose this option, it’s a good idea to bold the questions to distinguish between question and answer.
Alternatively, you can use the Gutenberg tab blocks contained within this free plugin to create a more premium feel for your FAQ section. Or use a drag-and-drop page builder (like Elementor) or block editor plugin to give your My Account page a better user experience.
Other ways to customize My Account page
Above, we’ve listed some of the most effective techniques for customizing the My Account page, but the options are almost endless. So here are a few more:
- Share custom content with subscribed customers or members.
- Include product add-ons and bonus items.
- Add custom fields with specific data.
- Allow customers to make bookings or register for an event with a registration form.
- And more.
